If you are on a hunt to find the best Milk Hydro Grip Primer dupe, here you go!
An excellent hydrating primer sets the base for your makeup and can definitely be a reason for your makeup to last longer.
Beginners and makeup experts alike, if there is one primer people can’t stop raving about, it is Milk’s Hydro Grip. It has been a staple in makeup bags from the day it was launched. And why not? Have you seen how freakin’ much it hydrates your skin and makes makeup stick to your face?
No doubt it is an award-winning product! This gel primer is formulated with hemp-derived cannabis seed extract, blue agave extract, aloe water, and hyaluronic acid, which in my skincare dictionary, are all things good for our skin.
Despite being insanely popular (like insanely!!), its hefty $30 price tag can be a bit off-putting for some people. Luckily, here are some fantastic Milk Hydro Grip Primer Dupes that actually feel like the real deal, and won’t break the bank without sacrificing quality.

To make it easy for you, this specific primer is my #1 recommendation for normal to dry skin types looking for Hydro grip dupes. It has a thick consistency that glides on smoothly without feeling sticky and holds the makeup for a full day. It is also packed with skin-loving vitamins and antioxidants your skin is bound to love.
best Milk Hydro Grip Primer Dupes
1. e.l.f. jelly pop dew primer
When it comes to creating outstanding pocket-friendly makeup products, e.l.f. knows its way. Not only that, it tries its best to come up with makeup dupes of high-end brands and cater to the needs of a wider audience with quality products. Most of the makeup dupes in this list are from e.l.f, and I love them all!
So when e.l.f dropped its jelly pop collection, the insane craze about it was real. And if there was one product that grabbed my attention the most was this Jelly pop dew primer. Let me break the news, yes, it’s the most perfect Milk Hydro Grip primer dupe you’ll ever find.
This gel texture primer multitasks to create a tacky but dewy base to keep your makeup in place all day while moisturizing your skin. It has a thick consistency that glides on smoothly without giving a sticky feel (I hate that in any product).
This affordable primer has all the same hydrating ingredients as the Milk primer, plus a few extra skin-loving goodies like vitamin E and rosehip oil, plus a refreshing watermelon scent that I personally love. And just like the Milk primer, it leaves your skin with a dewy, hydrated finish that’s perfect for prepping your skin for makeup.
However, the e.l.f. primer can feel a little sticky while applying as compared to Milk primer, but after it settles in and you apply the other layers, you’ll barely be able to tell the difference. Also, this is not a pore-filling primer or a mattifying one for that matter, so if you have texture on your skin or are an oily skin type, this is not made for you. It is a hydrating primer for normal to dry skin, and it works best for that.
I’ve tried both, and in my opinion, they’re identical in terms of performance.
So far, this is THE BEST Milk hydro grip primer dupe.
2. NYX bare with me jelly primer
We love NYX, period. It’s nice, affordable, and tries to come up with dupes for expensive brands. This Bare with me jelly primer is almost an exact dupe for Milk hydro grip primer for sure.
They both are insanely similar in terms of consistency, even though the packaging and formula may look different, as NYX one feels just like jello, and the Milk one is sort of like a gel. Even so, when they are on the skin, you won’t feel the difference, trust me.
NYX’s primer feels kind of
sticky tacky after like 15 seconds, which is good btw because then it helps grab the makeup and make it last all day long. It also has ingredients like cucumber and aloe extracts that leave your skin feeling fresh and hydrated.
Overall, I actually feel like there is no such major difference in both products worth considering instead of price. So I say, save that $30 and get yourself an NYX jelly primer at almost half the price.
3. hard candy hydrating grip primer
Cheapest of all, and you won’t even believe it, but this Hard Candy Hydrating 12 Hour Makeup Gripping primer is legit a 1:1 Milk hydro grip primer dupe. Surprisingly, it looks exactly the same with gel texture and light green tint and has almost the same ingredients, including hyaluronic acid and agave extracts.
Said that I don’t really trust Hard Candy as a brand as I haven’t liked any product from them except their nail polishes, but still, I would recommend giving this one a shot because, for the price it comes with, it’s even cheaper than e.l.f. one and literally works, looks, and feel the same.
4. xX revolution hydra fixx primer
This may be is the first time you might have heard about this brand, but this primer from Makeup Revolution’s sister brand is another excellent dupe for Hydro grip primer. It literally feels the same, has the same gel-type texture and formula, has that sticky feel to it when applied to the face, and helps makeup last much longer.
In addition to that, it also gives that subtle glow, just like the Hydro grip primer, even after applying the foundation. This product is jam-packed with star ingredients like aloe water, cherry blossom, and hyaluronic acid, which are almost identical to their higher counterpart.
Plus, you don’t need a lot of this product, so a little can go a long way. So grab this baby for just half the price.
5. Ulta beauty cool committee jelly face primer
Ulta is my and many other people’s go-to beauty store to buy drugstore and high-end brands. And its own beauty line has a lot of amazing makeup dupes. I know it is hard to believe, but these departmental store brands often create very similar dupes because they know what product/formula is selling, and then they try to create it at an affordable price for a wider audience.
And like that, this Cool Committee jelly face primer from Ulta beauty is a close Milk hydro grip primer dupe. The jelly formula has a tacky feel to it, which makes the foundation and other beauty products last all day long. In addition, the primer has some good moisturizing ingredients like green tea oil and rice silk powder.
However, it tends to pile up a little when you rub the primer harshly and heavily on the skin, which means you have to work with it carefully.
All in all, it is a nice affordable Milk Hydro grip primer alternative you can definitely try.
Final Thoughts on Milk Hydro Grip Primer Dupes
Well, these were all the dupes for Milk hydro grip primer that actually are very comparable to the real deal and well worth the money. My favorite ones are e.l.f. Jelly pop primer and NYX bare with me jelly primer. They are incredibly affordable and match the Hydro grip to the core. Hard Candy hydrating primer is another great option to consider compared to the price it retails at.
