But what if I told you there’s a superpower in your back pocket that can help you kick anxiety to the curb? Yep, I’m talking about affirmations—those little golden nuggets of positivity that can transform your mindset faster than you can say “Namaste.” Let’s just get started now!
What are some of the quickest ways to deal with anxiety?
Now, I talk about them deeply in this post on 12 ways I tackle anxiety instantly, but here’s a quick recap of it.

What’s my favorite way of using these affirmations for anxiety?
We all know deep breathing does magic to calm you down when you’re feeling anxious. So I want you to use that but in a unique way.
Start deep breathing, and while you’re doing that, imagine a white cloudy light entering your mind and filling your body when you inhale. Hold that breath. Now, when you’re exhaling out, imagine a smoky blackish air leaving your body.
Once you’ve done this 5-10 times, start repeating these anxiety affirmations.
Or what you can do is imagine a calm place. With trees, sunlight peeking through, lake or a river. Just create a nice little scenery in your mind and imagine yourself sitting there and saying these beautiful affirmations.

Do affirmations actually help with anxiety?
The short answer is yes! Affirmations are positive statements that help rewire your brain to focus on positivity rather than fear and worry. With consistent practice, they can reduce anxiety by promoting a calmer mindset.
How do I create my own affirmations for anxiety relief?
Creating affirmations is easier than you might think! Start by identifying specific negative thoughts you have about yourself or situations that trigger anxiety. Then, flip the script into something positive.
For example, if you often think “I can’t handle this,” try “I am capable and strong.” Keep it personal and make sure it resonates with you. Use whatever words you like.
I always like my affirmations with a little spice, like, I’m a f*cking star. People love me like I’m Beyonce. Get my point?
How often should I practice affirmations to see results?
I say however many times you can and are comfortable with. Practicing daily, even if it’s just for a few minutes, can build a strong foundation for change. Some folks like to repeat affirmations multiple times a day—like when they wake up, during breaks, and before bed.
How can I stay consistent with using affirmations daily?
Make it a habit by tying affirmations to daily routines! You could say them while brushing your teeth, during your commute, or even while sipping your morning coffee.
Setting reminders on your phone or writing them on sticky notes around the house can also help keep you on track.
What’s the best time of day to use affirmations for anxiety?
While there’s no “one size fits all” answer, many find mornings, right after you’ve woken up or evenings, right before you’re about to doze off, to be the most effective times.
Are there specific affirmations for social anxiety?
Absolutely! Here are a few examples:
- “I am confident in social settings.”
- “I am worthy of love and connection.”
- “People love me and always wanna be around me.”
- “The more I open up, the more people love me.”
- “I thrive with people around myself.”
- “I trust myself to handle any situation.”
Tailor these to your own experiences.
What should I do if affirmations for anxiety don’t seem to work?
Don’t fret! Sometimes, affirmations may not click right away. Give yourself grace and try different phrasing or delivery methods. Pairing them with other anxiety-reducing practices like deep breathing or meditation can also enhance their effectiveness.
Remember, it’s okay to reach out for professional help if needed.
